Purpose: This report summarises the results of the procurement process undertaken to appoint a contractor to undertake the construction works related to the creation of a new pedestrian access to West Norwood Cemetery(WNC) from Robson Road, involving the formation of a new opening within the existing boundary wall in the northeast corner of the South Metropolitan (West Norwood) Cemetery. This report recommends the appointment of WC Evans and Sons to undertake the construction works related to the South Metropolitan (West Norwood) Cemetery: Robson Road Entrance NLHF Project. The contract is expected to commence from September 2025 with an overall contract sum of £235,778 aiming to achieve practical completion and handover by March 2026. The report also recommends the acceptance of grant of £225,000 from National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) to pay towards these works.

Content: 1.       To approve the award of contract to WC Evans and Sons to undertake the construction works related to the South Metropolitan (West Norwood) Cemetery: Robson Road Entrance NLHF Project. The contract is expected to commence from September 2025 with an overall contract sum of £235,778 aiming to achieve practical completion and handover by March 2026.   2.       To accept the grant of £225,000 from National Lottery Heritage Fund grant towards the creation of the entrance from Robson Road to the cemetery match funded by London Council’s Capital Investment Programme.
