Decision Maker: Cabinet
Outcome:
Is Key Decision?: No
Is Callable In?: Yes
Purpose: Bracknell Forest Council and its partners recognise the need for a clear strategic vision to drive and shape the prevention and response to domestic abuse as we develop our new 5 year domestic abuse plan. It is vital that we undertake a public consultation to provide opportunities for feedback to those who will benefit from or who have a stake in this important area of work. A public consultation will ensure that the strategy is supported by those who have experienced domestic abuse and the wider community.
Content: RESOLVED that i. the draft Domestic Abuse Strategy 2026-2032 for public consultation for a period of 8 weeks is approved. ii. the final strategy will be brought back to the Cabinet for approval following public consultation. i. Public consultation is essential for shaping a relevant, inclusive, survivor-focused, and legally compliant strategy that meets the needs of the local population, incorporates their voices and, vitally, that those voices shape our work. ii. It helps test priorities, uncovers new community insights, amplifies diverse voices and strengthens public-partnership collaboration, ensuring our strategy is effective, ethical, and widely supported. Due to the recommendations in 4 above, no alternative options have been considered. None
