Purpose:

Content: The Chief Executive submitted a report seeking Committee’s observations and views on a draft response to the Home Office call for evidence on the Licensing Taskforce recommendations and the Government response.   On 2 September 2025, Committee was informed of a taskforce report reviewing the Licensing Act 2003. The Government’s response was published shortly before that meeting. Following this, the Home Office launched a call for evidence on 7 October 2025, inviting input from various stakeholders, with the deadline for submissions being 6 November 2025.   Officers had prepared a draft response, which Members considered and approved.   RESOLVED THAT COMMITTEE:   Authorise the Head of Legal and Democratic Services to submit the response on behalf of the Council.
