Purpose: The Council had the need to procure a 5 tonne Sweeper to replace the current sweeper that is beyond economical repair. An exercise was undertaken through the TPPL Framework (TPPLHCCOP03 – Lot 4 – Pedestrian, Compact and Chassis Mounted Road Sweepers up to 12.5T Vehicle Purchase). Scarab RAVO R2 + Scrub Deck was the winner in terms of performance, construction, pricing and optional extras. The purchase cost of the sweeper is £100,812.69 + VAT. This vehicle will also represent the cleanest possible I.C.E variant of sweeper, reducing CO2 emissions and further enhancing the Council’s Ultra Low / Zero emission %. Consultation has taken place and agreement received from the Council’s Director of Operations and Place, the Council’s Section 151 Officer and the Portfolio Holders for Resources and Environment & Transport.
