Purpose: The purpose of this report is to recommend the appointment of a Principal Contractor to undertake cliff face stabilisation works, as per a detailed design produced by Fairhurst

Content: The Chief Executive Officer was requested to appoint a principal contractor to undertake work, in respect of Land Stabilisation Works, Unit 10 Berry Hill Quarry, Mansfield.   Resolved –   (i)    That Contractor A be appointed to deliver the Unit 10, Berry Hill Quarry Face Stabilisation at the cost identified in the exempt appendix.   (ii) That the Legal Services Manager be authorised to negotiate, finalise and complete all the necessary and other documents to give effect to the exempt appendix.   Stabilising the quarry face will protect the land within the ownership of the council and provide mitigation for any further large-scale failures of the quarry face.   Do nothing, however, this will expose the quarry face to further deterioration/failure.
