Purpose:

Content: The Chief Executive submitted a report seeking approval of the Planning Enforcement Policy 2025-2028.   The existing policy was due for renewal, and following a review, an updated version was presented to members to cover the period 2025–2028. As the policy had already been revised in March 2025, only minor changes were required.   It was acknowledged that the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) may be subject to further updates in the coming weeks. Therefore, authority was requested for the Head of Legal and Democratic Services to make any minor, non-material amendments to the policy should these become necessary as a result.   RESOLVED THAT COMMITTEE:   1.     Approve the Planning Enforcement Policy 2025-2028 as shown in Appendix 1 of the report.   2.    Delegate authority to the Head of Legal and Democratic Services to make minor non-material amendments to the Policy as required—such as typographical corrections or updates to paragraph numbering.
