Content: Councillor Juned – Leader of the Council Consideration was given to the appointment of an external service provider to deliver a Climate Change Adaptation Audit Programme. In receiving the report, it was noted that following a pilot phase to gather a sufficient evidence base, an Action Plan would be produced which would set out how each organisation could deliver climate resilience measures. The options available to The Cabinet were to agree the delivery of a pilot audit programme and subsequent grant funding, to agree the delivery of the pilot audit programme but not the subsequent grant funding, or not to increase climate change adaptation across the District. Councillor Crump, Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee (OSC), provided feedback from the OSC meeting held on 26 November 2025 and noted that the majority of the proposed funding would go to support projects within communities. It was further noted that bids would be invited from all areas of the District and that the Parish and Town Council Liaison Officer would promote the grant funding as widely as possible, including via the Parish Forum. Accordingly, it was RESOLVED: (1) That the proposals to deliver a pilot Climate Change Adaptation Audit Programme, as detailed in the agenda report, be supported; and (2) That £150,000 be allocated from the Council’s Climate Change Reserve to enable the delivery of the Adaptation Audit Programme. Note: In accordance with the Council’s Constitution, this item is not subject to call-in to the OSC
