Decision Maker: Cabinet

Outcome:

Is Key Decision?: Yes

Is Callable In?: Yes

Purpose: The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 (“The Act”) directs that a Local Planning Authority should, from time to time, review those parts of their area designated as conservation areas, and designate any parts or further parts which are of special architectural or historic interest (section 69).   The Croydon Local Plan 2018 and Local Plan Partial Review sets the growth and development vision and planning policies for the borough. The plans provide the planning policy basis for the borough to plan for and deliver sustainable growth, whilst preserving and enhancing the borough’s historic environment. The report will set out a number of new areas to potentially be designated as conservation areas.    A list of these potential areas will be included in the report, along with high level timescales and designation process.  These potential designations will supplement the borough’s existing Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans (CAAMPs).
