Purpose: To consider representations made to the advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) in relation to proposed parking in Marlborough High Street and to recommend an appropriate way forward.
Content: To consider representations made to the advertisement of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) in relation to proposed parking in Marlborough High Street and to recommend an appropriate way forward. Following consultation with officers I give notice that I intend to make the decision set out in the attached report. If you would like to make any representations to me on this issue, please do so by 18 December 2025. The proposals are in response to concerns raised locally and supported through the LHFIG and accord with priorities 2 and 7 of the Councils adopted Our Wiltshire Plan 2025-2035: A Community-Centred Approach. The proposals have been prioritised by the Marlborough LHFIG and supported by the Marlborough Area Board. To: (i) Implement the proposed TROs as advertised. (ii) Amend the proposed TROs in consideration of the comments received. (iii) Abandon the proposal. Consultation has been undertaken with: · The elected Wiltshire Council Members through the statutory TRO consultation process. · The elected Marlborough Town Council through the statutory TRO consultation process · Members of the Marlborough Local Highways & Footways Improvement Group (LHFIG) · Emergency services through the statutory TRO consultation process · Members of the public through the statutory TRO consultation process The proposed TROs were subject to formal consultation between 17th July 2025 and the 11th August 2025. During the consultation period a total of three items of correspondence were received in response to the Council’s proposals. Those comments related to the proposals as follows: · 1 item of correspondence - supporting the proposals, · 2 items of correspondence - objecting to the proposals.
