Purpose: To approve the purchase of new waste and street cleansing vehicles for delivery in 2026.
Content: RESOLVED: a) That Cabinet recognise the role of the Joint Scrutiny Committee in calling in the original decision and thanks the Committee for meeting on 01 December 2025 to discuss this issue and making their recommendations for consideration. b) That Cabinet recognise that any decision on the purchase of waste vehicles needs to be aligned with that taken by Vale. c) That Cabinet approve the award of a contract to Dennis Eagle via a Crown Commercial Services framework for 8 x 26 tonne refuse collection vehicles and 1 x 18 tonne narrow refuse collection vehicle. The estimated cost of the vehicles is £2.070 million, of which £1.035 million will be funded by the council, and the remainder funded by Vale of White Horse in accordance with the agreed cost sharing mechanism. d) That Cabinet approve the movement of the required budget for vehicle purchases from the provisional capital programme to the approved capital programme.
