Purpose: IT Virtual Infrastructure Software & Support

Content:     Decision to purchase one year VMware (Virtual Infrastructure) software support (see Exempt Appendix)   This is a one off purchase of subscription software goods. The cost below are excluding VAT.   To purchase software support (see Exempt Appendix) for the Council’s virtual server infrastructure. It is important that we purchase this as it provides essential security patches to the system. It also enables us to log support calls with the vendor who can provide fixes for us. It is important to note that this is licensed on a subscription basis, and so if we don’t purchase it we will not be able to run it.   The cost of the solution will be £22,828.80. This will be funded from the ICT systems software revenue budget 15014414.   The procurement has been undertaken by requesting quotations using the corporate RFQ from 3 suppliers. The best value bid evaluated solely on price for ‘off the shelf’ software.   That the contract is awarded to the successful contractor as detailed in the attached exempt appendix None.
