Purpose: That the contract for adaptation of a council house ref. CHA 2368 for a value of £18,517.60 be awarded to PB Property developments Ltd.
Content: That the contract for adaptation of a council house ref. CHA 2368 is awarded to the successful contractor as detailed in the exempt appendix. Reason for Decision: The Private Sector Housing Service completes approximately 120 adaptations a year in Council owned properties. These works include door widenings, ramp access, stair lifts, ceiling track hoists, level access showers, wet rooms, kitchen adaptations and extensions. The Private Sector Housing grants team received a referral on 20 December 2024 from the Occupational Therapy team at Nottinghamshire County Council requesting a disabled adaptation for a vulnerable adult with complex health needs living at the property where the adaptations are proposed. The referral requested Door widening and a fully adapted kitchen. The works have been assessed by the Occupational Therapy team and have been determined to be necessary and appropriate to meet the needs of the disabled applicant. The referral has also been assessed by MDC Technical Surveyors as reasonable and practicable having regard to the age and condition of the property. This decision relates to the awarding of the contract to PB Property developments Ltd following the request of three quotations from local small businesses. The Appendix is exempt from publication under paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 because it contains information that is commercially sensitive. It is not in the public interest to publish the information as to do so could jeopardise the procurement process. Substantial time has been spent working with the tenant to identify alternative suitable accommodation, or accommodation that can be adapted at a lower cost. Unfortunately, alternative accommodation is not available.
