Purpose: To award a contract for adaptation works for a council house adaptation ref. CHA 2270 for a value of £27,951.28

Content: To award a contract to the tender winning contractor for adaptation works for a council house (adaptation ref. CHA 2270)   The Private Sector Housing grants team received a referral on from the Occupational Therapy team at Nottinghamshire County Council requesting a disabled adaptation for a vulnerable child with complex health needs living at the property where the adaptions are proposed. The referral requested an extension for a bathroom adaptation. The works have been assessed by the Occupational Therapy team and have been determined to be necessary and appropriate to meet the needs of the disabled applicant. The referral has also been assessed by MDC Technical Surveyors as reasonable and practicable having regard to the age and condition of the property. In accordance with Contract Procedure Rules, at least 3 written quotations were requested using requests for quotations from local companies. This decision relates to the awarding of the contract to the lowest priced contractor.   Substantial time has been spent working with the family to identify alternative suitable accommodation, or accommodation that can be adapted at a lower cost. Unfortunately, alternative accommodation is not available.
