Decision Maker: Cabinet
Outcome:
Is Key Decision?: Yes
Is Callable In?: Yes
Purpose: The Marine Nature Recovery Framework is voluntary and is aligned to the statutory, adopted Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Nature Recovery Strategy, enabling an integrated approach across land, rivers and seas. The report sets out the background to the MNRF and recommends adoption by Cabinet on behalf of Cornwall Council, representing a key deliverable in response to the Council priority for Clean, Green Cornwall with Healthy Rivers and Seas. The report recommends that Cornwall Council recognises its leadership and facilitatory role in contributing to delivery of marine nature recovery as set out in the emerging Grow Nature: Council Nature Recovery Action Plan. It also seeks recognition that Cornwall Council supports the role of the CIoS Local Nature Partnership (LNP) and relevant LNP subgroups (namely the CIoS Marine and Coastal Partnership) in providing the role of Steering Group to drive delivery of the MNRF alongside the CIoS Nature Recovery Strategy as part of the system wide approach required.
