Purpose: The Resources and Waste Strategy sets out the strategic aims and objectives for resources and waste management for Cornwall Council. The strategy covers the period from 2025 to 2045. The strategy will be reviewed a minimum of every five years, with the delivery plan updated annually. The detailed delivery plan will be developed in 2025 setting out how we will reach each of the key principles set out within the Resources and Waste Strategy.
Content: The Resources and Waste Strategy sets out the strategic aims and objectives for resources and waste management for Cornwall Council. The strategy covers the period from 2025 to 2045. The strategy will be reviewed a minimum of every five years, with the delivery plan updated annually. The detailed delivery plan will be developed in 2025 setting out how we will reach each of the key principles set out within the Resources and Waste Strategy. DECISION: RESOLVED: 1. That the Resources and Waste Strategy Delivery Plan, set out in Appendix 1 to the report, be approved. 2. That the booking system trialled at 7 of the 14 Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs), be made permanent at 6 of those sites, with the trial at the Launceston HWRC being extended for 6 months, and; 3. That delegated authority be given to the Service Director for Regulatory Services, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Environment and Climate Change and Local Member, to expand the booking system to additional HWRCs where need is demonstrated, and where appropriate local stakeholder engagement is undertaken, including the Launceston HWRC following the extended trial.
