Purpose: Following the motion passed by Council in September 2023 and extensive engagement a draft Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff Strategy was considered by Cabinet who approved a recommendation to launch a public consultation. The consultation took place between 18th July and the 30th September.   Following a review of the consultation feedback and resultant changes the draft strategy of a finalised strategy will be presented to Cabinet for consideration.  

Content: Following the motion passed by Council in September 2023 and extensive engagement a draft Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff Strategy was considered by Cabinet who approved a recommendation to launch a public consultation. The consultation took place between 18th July and the 30th September.   Following a review of the consultation feedback and resultant changes the draft strategy of a finalised strategy will be presented to Cabinet for consideration.   Councillor Julie Sangani declared a personal & non-prejudicial interest in this report as she works for Learning Disability Wales.   Councillor Peter Littlechild declared a personal & non-prejudicial interest in this report as he has neurodivergent family members.   RESOLVED: that   1.    the outcome of the consultation and engagement exercise be noted and the Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff Strategy 2025-2030 be approved.   2.    the establishment of a Cabinet Review Group to monitor the progress of the strategy be approved.
