Purpose:
Content: RESOLVED that the council adopts the Facilities Management Policy at Appendix A to the report. To support the delivery of the Council’s corporate mission to ‘Transform our Council’ and the Building Harlow’s Future Plan objective of “…driving innovation, optimisation, efficiency and delivery across all of our teams and services”. To imbed a formal policy to guide and support the delivery of Facilities Management Services, thereby ensuring that managed properties are maintained and operated so they remain safe, compliant, efficient and fit for purpose. To deliver on an outstanding audit recommendation related to the preparation and adoption of a Facilities Management Policy document. The council has the option of continuing to operate an FM Service without a formal FM policy. This option has been rejected because it would be contrary to the audit recommendations noted above and would represent a missed opportunity to embed a formal framework to guide and support the Council’s FM service delivery functions.
