Purpose:

Content: Consideration was given to a report regarding the conversion of Council garages at Penrith Grove into new Council housing.   RESOLVED – That, having considered a report in the absence of the press and public pursuant to Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), Cabinet: i)                 Agreed that the Council enter a contract with HUSK for the delivery of five two-bedroom bungalows at Penrith Grove. ii)                That authority be delegated to the Strategic Director, Housing, Environment and Healthy Communities, and the Strategic Director, Resources and Digital, in consultation with the Leader, to agree a maximum 10% increase to the contract price to account for any unforeseen cost uplift.   The above decision was made for the following reason: a)                 To enable the conversion of garages at Penrith Grove into new affordable housing, supporting the Council’s Housing Strategy and the sustainability of the Housing Revenue Account Business Plan.
