Content: Seek approval to undertake stakeholder consultation on the proposed Safer Roads Foundation project along the A6022 between Woodman Roundabout and the borough boundary with Doncaster.     ROTHERHAM METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL   RECORD OF OFFICER EXECUTIVE DECISION   Date of Decision: 19th November 2025   Title: A6022 Safer Roads Project – Engagement and Consultation approval   Decision Maker: (Including Job Title) Simon Moss, Assistant Director of Regeneration and Environment   Details of Specific Delegation   or   Delegation contained in the relevant Sub-Scheme of Delegation.   Authority to approve and initiate public consultation on the A6022 Safer Roads Project, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and alignment with project objectives.   Sub Scheme of Delegation - Strategic Director of Regeneration and Environment   ‘Each to act in relation to matters within their remit unless absent in which case any other Assistant Director may act.   2.    Other functions   Any function not otherwise reserved to the full Council, the Cabinet, a committee of the Cabinet, a member of the Cabinet, a joint committee discharging executive functions or another local authority, relevant to the Assistant Director’s portfolio.’   Page 7 refers.   Decision: Approve the undertaking of stakeholder consultation on the proposed Safer Roads Foundation project along the A6022 between Woodman Roundabout, Swinton, and the Borough boundary with Doncaster.   Reasons for the Decision: To ensure timely delivery of the A6022 Safer Roads Foundation scheme in alignment with agreed project milestones and client expectations, supporting the overall objective of improving road safety and maintaining stakeholder confidence.   Details of alternative options considered and rejected: The Council may choose to develop and implement the proposals without consultation.   Choosing not to consult would mean missing the opportunity to gather input from residents, business owners, and Ward Councillors. This could result in a final design that does not reflect local needs or preferences.   Not undertaking consultation may also be perceived as a lack of openness in decision-making Conflicts of interest declared by any Cabinet Member consulted by the decision maker which relates to the decision: None.
