Purpose:

Content: The report included information about the key planning indicators for quarter 2. The Council was required to submit the data quarterly to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. It also contained information about the current planning applications. Performance reports were presented to each policy committee at the end of each quarter. The following points were highlighted by the Interim Head of Planning: The percentage of decisions on major applications made within 13 weeks or within the agreed extension of time for Q2 was 100%. The percentage of decisions on minor applications made within 8 weeks or within the agreed extension of time for Q2 was 96%. The percentage of decisions on other applications made within 8 weeks or within the agreed extension of time for Q2 was 93%. During Q2, there were 175 decisions, 11 minor applications were refused as the decision was not determined in the timeframe. The validation timescales had substantially reduced since the summer and currently applications were being checked for validation within one week of receipt.   R E S O L V E D – that the Committee noted the Quarter 2 2025/26 Performance Indicators for the Planning Policy Committee.
