Content: Councillor Hooper introduced the report. He confirmed that the report highlighted some good achievements such as how the de-camp from Blackshots was dealt with. There were 7 main recommendations to come out of the report. Non-Executive Member Councillor Rigby was permitted to ask her question. 'The peer review highlights many areas of concern and need for improvement. However some initiatives such as the complex housing intervention programme( CHIP) are recognised as working well. How do you think learning from these areas can be used to help remedy more challenged aspects of housing?' Councillor Hooper responded that the CHIP team is a success. The way the CHIP team works is through accountability, joined up delivery focussed on outcomes to achieve strong results. The improvement task is to scale these principles into core landlord functions and underpin them with strong governance, data and assurance. Councillor Hooper stated that they can learn from the success of the CHIP programme. RESOLVED: 2.1Cabinet noted the findings of the LGA Social Housing Peer Review. 2.2Cabinet approved the proposed governance structure for managing and overseeing the improvement plan as set out in paragraph 4.22. 2.3Cabinet delegated authority to the Executive Director of Place, in consultation with the Chief Finance Officer and the Lead Member for Social Housing, to finalise the detailed improvement plan and associated resources Reason for the decision – as outlined in the report This decision is subject to call-in
