Purpose:

Content: Before the Committee was a report by the Assistant Director for Housing and Communities, copies of which had been circulated to all Members and a copy of which is attached to the signed copy of these minutes.   The report was introduced and discussed by the Committee   Decision:   1)    That it be noted that that the contract entered into with MRI for the provision of the Revenues and Benefits system does not include provision for early termination, as previously referenced in the report approved on 9th December 2025;   2)    That the amendment to the previously approved decision be approved, confirming that the contract term is a fixed five-year period, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031, with no provision for early termination;   3)    That it be noted that the absence of a break clause does not materially change the rationale for the contract extension, which remains a strategic measure to ensure service continuity pending Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).   4)    That it be noted that as we have been unable to progress to contract execution by the end of 2025 there may be a further capital cost.   5)    That it be noted that all other aspects of the original decision, including, legal, and governance implications, remain unchanged   Call In: The call-in deadline for decisions will be 5.00pm on 16 January 2026.
