Purpose: Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is working to improve journeys for people travelling by bus, walking, wheeling, or cycling across Greater Manchester. Enhancing bus stops is a key part of the Bee Network vision — a joined-up, London-style public transport system.   Through TfGM’s Bus Pinch Points and Maintenance Programme, funded by the government’s City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS), Mainwood Road in Timperley has been identified as a location that would benefit from improvements.

Content: Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is working to improve journeys for people travelling by bus, walking, wheeling, or cycling across Greater Manchester. That authorisation be given to advertise the intention to introduce the Traffic Regulation Order and Speed Limit Order as detailed in the Schedules to the report and that, if no objections are maintained, the Orders be made and implemented in whole or in part, as soon as is practicable.   That authorisation is given to advise frontages adjacent to the bus stops of the intention to introduce Bus Stop Clearway markings at the locations shown on Drawing E9415-005 to 008 and E9307-01.   That any objections maintained be reported back for consideration. It is recommended that, in the interest of bus access, traffic flow and road safety, to ensure that adequate visibility is available at the junctions along Mainwood Road, that  approval is given to advertise the proposed Traffic Regulation Order and 20mph Speed Limit Order as detailed in the Schedule. To do nothing would not resolve any of the issues currently experienced. None.
