Purpose: Mansfield District Council seeks approval to extend the Supported Housing Improvement Project (SHIP) from the 1st of April 2026 to the 31st of March 2027, and extend the roles on the establishment within the project for this timescale.

Content: Resolved by the Chief Executive Officer   (i)             To extend the Supported Housing Improvement Project (SHIP) from the 1st of April 2026 to the 31st of March 2027. (ii)            To extend the associated employment contracts/secondments as set out below. (iii)          That the 2026/27 HRA budgets are amended accordingly. (iv)          The Legal Services Manager be authorised to negotiate, finalise, and complete all necessary legal agreements and other documents to give effect to the above.   To prepare and comply with the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023 that will place a legal duty on local authorities to inspect, review, and scrutinise supported housing providers in their district.     Not to extend the SHIP project and the roles on the establishment, would give us no resource to comply with the legislation changes that are being introduced, because there is funding to extend, this option would not be recommended.
