Purpose:

Content: Consideration was given to adopting an updated Corporate Complaints and Compliments Policy aligned to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code and coordinated with the Housing Ombudsman’s Code, including digital system improvements and appointment of a Member Responsible for Complaints.   RESOLVED: i)                 That Cabinet approved the revised Corporate Complaints and Compliments Policy (Appendix 1). ii)                That Cabinet agreed that the ‘Member Responsible for Complaints’ role continue to be undertaken by the Leader of the Council.   The above decision was made for the following reasons: a)                 To ensure the Council complies with the requirements of the Code. b)                 To provide a coordinated and consistent complaint?handling process for Gateshead residents.
