Purpose:

Content: Consideration was given to setting the council tax base for 2026/27 for both the Borough of Gateshead and the Parish of Lamesley, together with agreement of the business rates forecast for 2026/27.   RESOLVED: i)                 That Cabinet agreed, under the relevant Regulations, a council tax base for Gateshead of 55,104.6 for 2026/27. ii)                That Cabinet agreed, under the relevant Regulations, a council tax base for the Parish of Lamesley of 1,224.8 for 2026/27. iii)              That Cabinet agreed a business rates forecast of £47.705 million for 2026/27.   The above decision was made for the following reasons: a)                 To support the Council’s financial planning and budget setting. b)                 To set a council tax base and a business rates forecast for 2026/27 in line with statutory requirements.
