Purpose: To seek delegated authority to negotiate an extension to the term of the council’s current structural maintenance contract with Tarmac Trading Limited for a period of 12 months ending on 31st March 2027.

Content: In coming to this decision I have given due and full regard to the requirements of the public sector equality duty contained in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (“the Act”) by reference to the law itself.    Having fully considered all the available information, I have decided to reject the alternative options and take the recommended decision to:    Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Economy, Environment & Infrastructure in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Highways to:     Negotiate a 12-month extension (from 1st April 2026 until 31st March 2027) to the term of the council’s current contract with Tarmac Trading Limited for the provision of structural maintenance services; and   Approve the above contract extension.    For the reasons set out in the report.
