Purpose:

Content: The Committee considered a report by the Sustainability Officer (circulated previously) regarding the Local Nature Recovery Strategy.   In response to questions from the Committee, the Sustainability Officer advised the following:   ·       The Devon Local Nature Recovery Strategy was a strategic document and a tool that provided guidance and an evidence base to inform Local Plans and planning decision making. ·       The legislation was quite explicit in that it was not a constraint placed on planning and the mapping would inform policy to be included within the Local Plan.   RESOLVED:   (a)  That Committee agrees as the Supporting Authority that the draft Devon Local Nature Recovery Strategy be finalised for publication in Spring 2026; (b)  That authority be delegated to the Supporting Authority lead officer (Sustainability Officer) to make or approve any amendments following comments received to the public consultation (Oct 2025) materials and prior to publication.
