Purpose: To approve the school term and holiday dates for LA maintained schools

Content: That the school term and holiday dates for 2027/28 as set out in Appendix 1 to the submitted report be approved for LA maintained community schools and as a guide to all schools in the city. To agree the proposed LA controlled School term dates for 2027/28. Possible options were explored across the Eastern Regional Local Authority Group, but clear limitations were identified. Dates were developed with consideration for the length of half terms and full terms, as well as bank holidays. However, maintaining a balance of approximately six weeks per half term and complying with the statutory requirement of 190 school days meant that no alternative options were feasible.
