Purpose:

Content: Before the Committee was a report by the Corporate Director for Resources, copies of which had been circulated to all Members and a copy of which is attached to the signed copy of these minutes as Item 6.   This report presented to members the Joint Services Budget for 2026/2027. The respective councils’ share of the Joint Services budget were reflected in the Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council 2026/2027 revenue budgets that would be considered at the respective Cabinet Meetings.   Members were presented with the final budget report of the year, the culmination of the annual budgeting exercise, and were asked to consider: the final revenue estimates for 2026/27 including any adjustments arising from settlement and an updated outline 5-year forecast; The budgets reflected the decisions taken by members in relation to agreed savings proposals and any committed growth.   Decision:   1.     That the proposals for growth and the investment in services be noted as outlined in appendix 2 and appendix 3 which were considered at the respective Adur and Worthing Cabinet meetings on 29th January 2026 and 3rd February 2026.   2.     That the proposed 2026/27 budget detailed at section 5 be noted. The respective council shares have been approved by the Adur and Worthing Cabinets. The budget will be adjusted for any changes to the Investment in Services proposals.   3.     That the proposed use of capital receipts to support transformation and the delivery of the budget be noted. These are set out at appendix 5 and were considered at the Adur and Worthing Cabinet meetings.     Call In: The call-in deadline for decisions will be 5.00pm on 17 February 2026.
