Purpose: This report will set out the approach and funding for business support in Northumberland.

Content: RESOLVED that:-   (a)      Cabinet note the proposals in relation to the NE-RGN and the emerging North East Business support Framework;   (b)      authority be delegated to the Executive Director of Place and Regeneration to enter into the Grant Funding Agreements up to £8,500,000 with the North East Combined Authority with Northumberland County Council as the Lead Delivery Partner;   (c)      authority be delegated to the Executive Director of Place and Regeneration to enter into Partnership Agreements with Durham County Council, Gateshead Council, Northumberland National Park Authority, North East Enterprise Association Limited, and Food & Drink North East Limited;   (d)      Cabinet endorse the principles of the emerging North East Business Support Framework with a view to future alignment with the NE-RGP when operationalised;   (e)      Cabinet accept the additional funding of £150,000 for the extension of the current Northumberland Small Business Support programme and the North East BIPC Northumberland Contribution and delegate authority to the Director of Economic Development and Growth to enter into the relevant agreements with the North East Combined Authority; and   (f)       authority be delegated to the Executive Director of Place and Regeneration to enter into Grant Funding Agreements with the North East Combined Authority and relevant Partnership Agreements in the relation to the wider North East Business Support Framework when this is operationalised.
