Purpose:

Content: Consideration was given to the report which sought approval for the disposal of approximately 4.93 hectares (12.2 acres) of Council?owned land at Church Place, Brandling, Felling to the Gateshead Regeneration Partnership (GRP), subject to the grant of planning permission for the construction of residential dwellings, including affordable housing.   RESOLVED – That, having considered a report in the absence of the press and public pursuant to Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended): i)                 Cabinet approved the disposal of the land at Church Place, Brandling, Felling to the Gateshead Regeneration Partnership, subject to the grant of planning permission for the construction of 131 dwellings. ii)                Cabinet approved that the transfer value of the land be determined in accordance with the development agreement, in consultation with the Strategic Director of Economy, Innovation and Growth.   The above decision was made for the following reasons: a)                 Development of vacant land for residential development. b)                 Provision of new housing within Felling.
