Purpose: To seek delegated authority to undertake a procurement exercise and award contracts for the supply of social care and health community equipment for the purpose of supporting residents who have been assessed as needing such equipment to help them live safely and maintain their independence at home or facilitate timely discharge from hospital.  

Content: To seek delegated authority to undertake a procurement exercise and award contracts for the supply of social care and health community equipment for the purpose of supporting residents who have been assessed as needing such equipment to help them live safely and maintain their independence at home or facilitate timely discharge from hospital.   Cllr Kate Usmar sought delegated authority to undertake a procurement exercise and award contracts for the supply of social care and health community equipment for the purpose of supporting residents who have been assessed as needing such equipment to help them live safely and maintain their independence at home or facilitate timely discharge from hospital.   Having considered all of the information, Cabinet noted the report and   RESOLVED to:   Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Adult Social Care, Wellbeing and Communities, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Adults’ Support and Independence to: 1.              Conduct a mini-competition or (as appropriate) a direct award process under the NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) Framework Agreement in respect of as many contracts as may be required for the supply of community social care and health equipment from the tenderers who exceed quality and financial procurement thresholds. The proposed call-off contracts shall continue for an initial period of three years and include an option to extend its term for a further period of not more than one year.   2.              Award the above call-off contracts to the preferred tenderer(s);   3.              Determine whether to exercise the option to extend each of such call-off contracts for a further period of not more than one year on the expiry of their initial three-year term.
