Purpose:

Content: The Director of Community Services submitted a report for committee to agree to changes to the Health and Wellbeing Team posts in line with funding received for commissioning the services.   For many years, Council staff had delivered health and well-being projects for residents of the Borough under a combination of permanent and fixed terms. Most of the funding for the services had been time limited, therefore staffing was related to the budgets available.   The proposals set out in the report had been discussed the affected staff and funders and would ensure both the excellent work the staff had done to-date to continue and would accommodate a new work stream of smoking cessation. As the nature of the work evolved over the coming months, if an additional post was seen as the optimum a further report would be brought back to Committee.   The immediate primary concern was the smooth transition from one funding stream to another and ensuring the service continued for clients with minimal disruption.   RESOLVED THAT COMMITTEE:     1.     Agreed to the staffing proposal as set out in the report.   2.     Referred a recommendation to Personnel Committee to approve the following changes to the Establishment, subject to job evaluation:   2.1 The addition of a Part-time Health and Wellbeing Coach at Scale 4 (20 hours per week) for a fixed term of 3 years, and   2.2 The addition of a Full-time Health and Wellbeing Coach at Scale 4 for a fixed term of 3 years, funded from the smoking cessation and healthy weight programmes.   2.3 The addition of a P/T Work Stream Lead at Scale 4 (2 days per week) for a fixed term of 2 years funded from TaAF.
