Content: Councillor Hartstean introduced the report. Councillor Rigby was permitted to ask her question. With a shortage of accommodation in Thurrock and the supported housing strategy being a long term project, together with considering a joint commission with Essex and/or Southend, how confident are you that the procurement will lead to sufficient homes being found within Thurrock? Councillor Hartstean responded that they have already been in contact with a number of providers already offering this in Thurrock and other providers who are looking to expand into the Thurrock area and there is sufficient interest to meet the demands. Councillor Rigby queried the time period for the contract. Councillor Hartstean responded that she will have to confirm that in writing. RESOLVED: 2.1Cabinet endorsed the proposals set out in this report. 2.2Cabinet agreed to delegate decisions concerning the design of the ITT through the arrangements described in this report, to the Executive Director of Children Services following consultation with the lead member for children services. 2.3Cabinet agreed to require that Officers present their recommendations for the award of new contracts, to Cabinet for their decision, prior to entering into any arrangement with external providers.
