Purpose: Decision to adopt a Financial Inclusion Strategy for the borough, helping residents to access the right support and services to improve their income, tackle problem debt, and build financial resilience.

Content: That the Cabinet members:   1.      Approve the adoption of the Financial Inclusion Strategy 2026–2030 (Appendix 1) as the council’s strategic plan for strengthening residents’ financial resilience and preventing financial hardship.   2.      Note that further work will be undertaken with the Financial Inclusion Steering Group and Financial Inclusion Centre to develop a detailed implementation plan, and identify funding opportunities to deliver the strategy’s commitments effectively.
