Purpose: The attached report explains the process involved in declaring Sproughton Nature Reserve as a statutory Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and asks the Portfolio Holder to agree to the declaration and to authorise the Assistant Director for Place to enter into a legal agreement with Babergh District Council to declare the LNR.

Content: The attached report explains the process involved in declaring Sproughton Nature Reserve as a statutory Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and asks the Portfolio Holder to agree to the declaration and to authorise the Assistant Director for Place to enter into a legal agreement with Babergh District Council to declare the LNR. That the Portfolio Holder for Place:   ·            Agrees to the declaration of the new Sproughton Local Nature Reserve by Babergh District Council, and the continued management of the reserve by the Council. ·            Authorises the Assistant Director for Place to sign the legal agreement (attached at Appendix 2 to the report) with Babergh District Council to enable completion of the declaration process with Natural England. ·            Authorises the Head of Parks & Cemeteries, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Parks & Climate Change and Assistant Director for Operations, to make minor amendments as necessary to the adopted management plan during its published lifetime.   Reason: To meet planning requirements and biodiversity targets and enable the declaration process to be completed, and to enable any future revisions following published guidance or adaptions.
