Purpose: This report seeks approval to carry out statutory consultation on the provision of new disabled persons’ parking places and the revocation of redundant disabled persons’ parking places, as listed in Appendices A and C in this report. Where the proposals result in objections or representations being received, a further decision report will be prepared for consideration by the Assistant Director for Parking, Network Management and Fleet to determine the way forward.

Content: 1.            To agree the proposals to install 18 new disabled bays and remove six existing disabled bays described in this report and shown in appendices A, C, E and F at a total estimated cost of £21,400 to be delivered by June 2026.   2.            To authorise officers to carry out statutory consultation in accordance with the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 on the proposals shown in Appendices A, C, E and F. 3.            To agree to the implementation of these measures and the making of traffic management orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 4.            To agree that if any material objections or representations resulting from the statutory consultation are received, that they will be considered by way of a separate decision report to the Assistant Director for Parking, Network Management and Fleet before a decision is reached on whether to proceed. 5.            That, subject to the outcome of the statutory consultation mentioned at paragraph 2, and having considered any objections resulting from the statutory consultation process as mentioned at paragraph 4, to delegate to the Assistant Director for Parking, Network Management & Fleet,authority to decide whether or not to hold a public inquiry pursuant to Regulation 9 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 as referred to at Section 4 of this report
