Purpose:

Content: To award the contract to Kompan for the above works. Value of the contract is below 150k and within officer delegation. To provide accessibility, consistency in maintenance and appearance of existing play equipment at other areas and to maximise extent of accessible equipment. See below.   Kompan have just carried out the refurbishment of the Recreation Ground and as such we have entered into a maintenance equipment agreement for the repair and maintenance of equipment covering all SDC sites.   Using them at Shottery Fields would enable us to extend this maintenance agreement meaning we get much quicker and cheaper repairs and maintenance of equipment.   Additionally, following consultation, accessible equipment has been identified as a very important aspect of the project and Kompan provide the most extensive range of accessible equipment available, providing some pieces of equipment that are unique to them and that have been specifically requested as part of the consultation.   This enables us to provide a consistent approach to accessible equipment across the town, an essential issue given the importance of making play as accessible as possible to the widest possible audience.   The project is also time critical to ensure the installation is completed before the school holidays and Kompan are able to meet this timescale as identified by their past performance.
