Purpose:

Content: Resolved that   (a)       the Council’s participation in round four of the Local Authority Housing Fund programme be agreed;   (b)       the Council’s indicative allocation of £1.19 million to support the delivery of two homes under the resettlement element of the programme (to provide accommodation for specific households from Afghanistan) and two homes to be used as temporary accommodation to help meet wider homelessness pressures be noted;   (c)        authority be delegated to the Head of Housing Services, in consultation with the Head of Finance and Strategic Director (Services) to agree the detail of the programme delivery;   (d)       the longer-term benefit that the Local Authority Housing Fund programme provides, in respect of providing much needed affordable housing that would be available to help meet future housing and homeless needs in the Borough be noted;   (e)       it be noted that the Council’s financial contribution to support the delivery of four homes would be met through existing commitments and would not require additional funding; and   (f)        authority be delegated to the Head of Legal and Governance to complete all necessary transactions and documentation to give effect to the programme and property purchases.
