Purpose: The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) launched the fourth round of the Local Authority Housing Fund (LAHF) in November 2025.   The programme aims to ease pressure on temporary accommodation, reduce costs, and support Afghan resettlement households, including larger families.   The Council submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) on the 18 December 2025 and has now received confirmation that the EOI has been successful in securing £2,657,884 in capital and revenue funding, released in eight staged payments linked to delivery milestones and verified spend.   Delivery includes 12 properties to be used as temporary accommodation, 6 standard resettlement homes, and 6 large family resettlement units.   The Council must provide monitoring information every two months, maintain strong governance, and ensure statutory compliance around procurement, subsidy control, equalities, and fraud prevention. MHCLG may reduce or recover funding if delivery targets or new supply requirements are not met.
