Purpose: On 26 March 2026 the Grants Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications received between 7 February 2026 and 7 March 2026. Nine applications were brought forward in ‘Appendix A’ of the meeting reports pack. After consideration of the application, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Resources that: 1. Friends of St John the Evangelist (JGTRSFJJ) is not funded but deferred - please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons for rejection’ section 2. The George Long Charity for Swavesey Memorial Hall (LHTPRFLG) is not funded but deferred - please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons for rejection’ section 3. Swavesey Primary School PTA (TQNGJPNQ) is not funded but deferred- please see the ‘Other options considered and reasons for rejection’ section 4. Cambridge St Giles Cricket Club (XKNZDQZT) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 5. Northstowe Hub CIO (ZVGQGPPF) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 6. Blossomify Community Interest Company (MQMWCQCX) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,820 7. Fowlmere Community Events (ZMCNPCBP) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,930.18 8. Milton Community Centre and Recreation Grounds (MCC) (JQZDHBSZ) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000 9. Namysto(QLGMGFJX) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000.

Namysto(QLGMGFJX) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000. To accept the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee (see above). As per above, the application from Namysto is funded. If, at any point, a different community group assumes use of the storage units, prior approval will be required from the Grants Advisory Committee to permit their use. The applications were considered in detail by the Grants Advisory Committee and there is sufficient budget available. To reject or vary the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee and decide on the level of funding (£0 - £2,000) to be awarded for each or defer a decision if further information is required from grant applicants. As per above, the application from Friends of St John the Evangelist (JGTRSFJJ) requesting £1,160.93 has been deferred, pending further information on whether the parish council are able to provide a contribution to the project. As per above, the application from The George Long Charity for Swavesey Memorial Hall (LHTPRFLG) requesting £928 has been deferred, pending further information on whether the parish council are able to provide a contribution to the project. As per above, the application from Swavesey Primary School PTA (TQNGJPNQ) requesting £1,749.97 has been deferred, pending further information on whether the site will be open to the public; whether unrestricted access will be permitted at any time, including weekends; and, if so, what safeguarding measures will be in place. Clarification is also required on whether the parish council has already contributed funding to the project.
