Purpose: This report seeks approval to commence a procurement exercise for the development of extra care schemes on Council owned sites in Northumberland
Content: RESOLVED that:- (a) Cabinet grant permission to undertake the necessary procurements to enable Northumberland County Council to contract with Registered Social Landlords to deliver extra care schemes at 4 Council owned sites including Alnwick, Ashington, Cramlington and Blyth; (b) Cabinet delegate authority to the Council’s Executive Director – Adults Ageing and Wellbeing to approve the award of contracts following this procurement process, with the agreement of the Executive Director of Transformation & Resources and the Cabinet Member for Adult Care & Health; (c) Cabinet approve the inclusion of the Council owned sites listed at para 4.4 as part of the procurement process, and the subsequent delegated disposal of sites in accordance with the outcome of the procurement process; and (d) Cabinet delegate authority to the Executive Director of Place and Regeneration in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Business, Growth & Regeneration for individual site disposals, provided those decisions are consistent with the legal advice received and referenced in this report, on the disposal of Council owned assets. Where land receipt for any site is greater than £1 million this will require Cabinet approval.
