Purpose:

Content: The report sought the Council’s approval to appoint the joint Strategic Director. This role is a One Team appointment and will also be subject to the required approvals by Rochford District Council (RDC).   The Council was also asked to note the recent permanent appointment to the role of Director of Communities and Health.   Councillors endorsed the two officer appointments and thanked the Joint Appointments Panel members for their time and agreement for a unanimous decision.    Cllr Aspinell MOVED and Cllr Russell SECONDED the recommendations in the report.  A vote was taken by a show of hands and it was RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY to:   R1. To appoint the Strategic Director, details of which are set out at Appendix A of the report.   R2: That the Monitoring Officer be given delegated authority to make any required changes to the Constitution to give effect to the recommendations in this report.   R3. That Council note the recent appointment of Paul Brace to the permanent role of Director of Communities and Health.
