Purpose:

Content: The report set out the support that Brentwood Borough Council can offer to Care Leavers as they transition through an important stage in their life. Whilst they remain the responsibility of Essex County Council (ECC) Care Service, Brentwood Council has a responsibility to support ECC and support them as the corporate guardian to this vulnerable section of the community.   The report set out the support Brentwood Borough Council are able to offer through the adoption of a Care leavers Pledge which goes beyond that responsibility to support ECC.   Cllr Aspinell MOVED and Cllr Barrett SECONDED the recommendations in the report.  A vote was taken by a show of hands and it was RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY to:   R1. Members are asked to note the report.   R2. Members are asked to approve the adoption of the Brentwood Care Leavers Pledge.
