Purpose: The Cabinet, at its meeting on 27 November 2024 (report FIN/670 refers), delegated authority to award the contract for general insurance to the Leader (in consultation with the Head of Corporate Finance and the Head of Governance, People & Performance).  This decision will be enacting that delegation provide approval for the Council to change its insurance provider subject to completion of due diligence process on the Council.

Content: The Cabinet, at its meeting on 27 November 2024 (report FIN/670 refers), delegated authority to award the contract for general insurance to the Leader (in consultation with the Head of Corporate Finance and the Head of Governance, People & Performance).  This decision will be enacting that delegation provide approval for the Council to change its insurance provider subject to completion of due diligence process on the Council. 1.       The Leader (in consultation with the Head of Corporate Finance and the Head of Law & Governance) approved entering into insurance arrangement for general insurance services from Zurich for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027; and for 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2028 subject to the renewal process for 2027/28.   2.       The Leader (in consultation with the Head of Corporate Finance and the Head of Law & Governance) approved entering into insurance arrangement for leaseholder insurance services for a two year period starting 1 April 2026 from Aspen (via Gallagher).   3.       The Leader noted that (in line with the delegation approved by Cabinet on 27 November 2024 via report FIN/670) the negotiation, approval and completion of all relevant documentation, including legal paperwork following the awarding of the contract will be undertaken by the Head of Corporate Finance and Head of Law & Governance.
