Purpose: To receive and consider the progress report in relation to the Peer Challenge Action Plan.

Content: To receive and consider the progress report in relation to the Peer Challenge Action Plan. It was RESOLVED that Cabinet NOTED:   ·       The outcome of the Corporate Peer Challenge Review and the subsequent independent report.   ·       The formal process of Corporate Peer Challenge is now complete.   Reasons for the decision   The report was submitted to the Cabinet for information and to note the outcome of the Progress Review, which took place in January 2026. This review is an integral part the Corporate Peer Challenge process. The review also allowed space and time for progress on the original CPC Recommendations and to consider peers’ reflections on the  opportunities and challenges that have arisen since their original visit.  It also provided a welcomed opportunity to demonstrate the impact and learning and progress since the original review.    Alternative Options Considered   To do nothing – this option is not recommended as this would prevent the Council from learning from its peers from the wider local government sector and would not demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. To not review progress would be contrary to the previous Cabinet decision and the requirements of the CPC, whilst the formal review has concluded the council will continue to learn and transform in line with the changing situations.   *AS THIS ITEM WAS FOR NOTING, IT IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CALL-IN*
