Purpose:

Content: Consideration was given to the report of the Assistant Director of Housing, as contained on pages 45 to 54 of the Book of Reports, which provided an update on the receipt of further Local Authority Housing Fund 4 Grant and sought authority to acquire residential properties on the open market xx        using the recently secured funding.   The Minute of the Landlord Services Working Group had been circulated prior to the meeting.   RESOLVED:   A.    That delegated authority be granted to the Director of Housing and Environment, in consultation with the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources (Section 151 Officer), to use the LAHF4 grant for the acquisition of 6 residential properties.    B.    That any funding shortfall required to acquire and / or bring the 6 acquired residential properties up to the Council's lettable standard be met by the Council through Housing Revenue Account (HRA) borrowing or other means as deemed appropriate by the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources.   C.    That, if there is a surplus of grant funding remaining following the acquisition and / or repair of the acquired six residential properties, the Council acquire additional residential properties to use up the remaining grant, with the Council covering any shortfall in grant to acquire and / or undertake works to bring them up to the Council's lettable standard.   D.    That any HRA funded capital financial contribution for the acquisition and/or repair of these properties be capped at £300,000.
