Purpose:

Content: The Cabinet had before it a report * from the Head of Housing and Health on the Corporate Anti-Social Behaviour Policy providing an update across the district.   The Cabinet Member for Quality of Living, Equalities and Public Health outlined the contents of the report with particular reference to the following:   The Council was committed to fostering a safe, supportive and thriving environment for all who lived, worked and spent time in the district. Central to this commitment was ensuring that individuals could enjoy their homes and communities free from intimidation, harassment and nuisance. Anti-social behaviour (ASB) could significantly impact the quality of life of residents and visitors, and addressing it effectively was an essential part of the Council’s wider community safety responsibilities. This report introduced the Council’s updated, Corporate Anti-Social Behaviour Policy, which outlined the Council’s approach to preventing, managing and resolving ASB in a proportionate, fair and victim-centred manner.   RESOLVED that the updated, Corporate Anti-Social Behaviour Policy as attached in Annex A be ADOPTED as recommended by Community, People and Equalities Policy Development Group.   (Proposed by Cllr D Wulff and seconded by Cllr G DuChesne)   Reason for Decision: The Anti-Social Behaviour Policy ensured that the Council operated in full compliance with the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, which provided the statutory framework for tackling ASB.    Note: * Report previously circulated.
