Purpose:

Content: 6.1 The Committee considered a report of the Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services which related to a legacy referenced in the Will of a deceased individual and concerned the correct identification of the intended charitable beneficiary. It asked Members to confirm that Weston Park Trust acknowledges and accepts that the legacy was not intended for the Trust and agrees that the intended beneficiary is Weston Park Cancer Hospital. The report also sought delegated authority for officers, through the General Counsel, to provide written confirmation to the estate’s solicitors and to execute any necessary documentation to give effect to this position.     6.2 RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Charity Trustee Sub- Committee agrees to defer the report to a later meeting to allow further evidence to be obtained in respect of the correct identification of the intended charitable beneficiary.         6.3 Reasons for Decision     6.3.1 To allow further evidence to be obtained in respect of the correct identification of the intended charitable beneficiary.         6.4 Alternatives Considered and Rejected     6.4.1 Not applicable.
